Can't make it in to the Library? No problem. eMembership at Cambridge Library gives you access to our full range of online resources including eBooks, eAudiobooks, video streaming services and much more.

Upgrade to a full membership at any time to borrow and reserve physical items from the Library. Just follow the steps below!
Full membership
Full membership at Cambridge Library gives you access to thousands of items, plus free use of library computers, online resources and the internet.
- Visit the library
- Provide photo ID
- Show proof of your current residential address
- Agree to comply with our Conditions of Library Use and Conditions of Membership
- Sign the Cambridge Library membership register
Note: Applicants aged under 18 years need a parent/guardian to provide proof of their current residential address and sign the membership register on their behalf.
What you can borrow
Library members can borrow up to 20 items at a time, for up to four weeks.
Returning items
All items must be returned on or before the due date.
Returning items after hours
If you can't make it to the library to return items during opening hours, you can use the external returns chute located outside the library's main entrance.
Renewing a loan
Items are automatically renewed for four weeks, twice. Items will be renewed automatically four days before the due date and a confirmation email will be sent. Exceptions include: items reserved by another borrower, items borrowed from another Library and Lightning Loans. You will receive a reminder email three days before the due date for any items that need to be returned.
